The Covina Fun Run, is Covina Rotary’s main fundraiser to fund our charity projects. Funds from the Fun Run go to teacher’s mini-grants for the Covina-Valley Unified and Charter Oak School districts as well as other community endeavors. The Fun Run is a longstanding Covina Rotary event where local businesses, volunteers, school districts and running enthusiasts come together to support our community and get a little exercise at the same time.
The Covina Rotary Fun Run was started by Ed Kissell over two decades ago as an event and fundraiser for Covina Rotary. Ed Kissell was a long time Covina Rotarian, local businessman and all around wonderful person. Ed passed away in 2013, but his legacy lives on in many ways in Covina. One way Ed's legacy continues is through the Fun Run that has become one of the largest 5k and 1 mile runs in the San Gabriel Valley. The Fun Run continues to expand and grow each year to include new aspects, more runners and raise more funds for local community endeavors. Ed would be proud. We as the Covina Rotary are honored to continue the legacy and impact of Ed Kissell with the Fun Run.
